A company that transforms meat and needed to transform its operation too
TacosFood supplies processed meat to restaurants, distribution chains and high-end events in Quebec — including the Mexican menu at Cirque du Soleil. With Teotech, their internal operation began to match the level of their product.
TacosFood: el contexto
TacosFood had the hardest part solved: a solid product, high-end clients and presence in Quebec's most relevant distribution networks. But their internal operation didn't match. Orders came in through WhatsApp. Inventory was tracked manually. Production wasn't connected to stock. And their website looked like a restaurant's — not that of a B2B company supplying Cirque du Soleil and working with Gordon Food Services. The operating system had to rise to the level of the business.
What changed with Teotech
A system that covers the full cycle
B2B digital repositioning
The first step was correcting how TacosFood presented itself to the world. The original website looked oriented toward the end consumer. A strategic correction of the positioning and website was carried out so it clearly communicated what the company is: a B2B supplier specialized in processing Mexican food for restaurants, chains, distributors and corporate events. Social media was aligned with that narrative, including photo coverage of the GFS and Nutri Impact event where TacosFood participates as a supplier.
Manufacturing ERP implementation
The core of the project is the implementation of an in-house ERP system deployed on Teotech's server. The configuration was built around TacosFood's real logic: production orders — not purchase orders — as the main operating mechanism. Inventory and manufacturing modules were configured, all products were loaded with their variants, and Bills of Materials (BOM) were built for each recipe: cochinita pibil, barbacoa, al pastor, chorizo and more. When a production order is generated, the system automatically deducts the corresponding inputs — marinades, meat, spices — from real inventory.
Batch traceability and production control
TacosFood works with animal protein, which makes traceability not optional — it's critical. The system manages production batches with tracking of purchase costs, batch numbers, expiration dates and associated production orders. Raúl handles sales. Oscar controls production. The ERP connects both realities into a single system where each can operate from their area without losing visibility of what the other is doing.
Operations display and order management
The next stage connects the ERP with plant operations. A 42-inch screen will be installed in production showing real-time KPIs, and the technical lead will operate with a tablet to process information directly from the production floor. In parallel, the B2B ordering system will be developed to replace the current WhatsApp flow — with per-client access, order history, tracking and direct connection to the ERP so every order automatically affects inventory.
What was built
TacosFood went from running its production manually to having an ERP configured specifically for food manufacturing — with batch traceability, production orders that affect inventory in real time and centralized visibility for both partners. Their digital presence now correctly communicates what they are: a B2B supplier of caliber working with GFS, Nutri Impact and featured on the Cirque du Soleil menu. The next stage — operations display and B2B ordering system — will bring that structure to the production floor and the sales channel.
